The Challenge

Virox markets medical and veterinary-grade disinfectants with DIN certification, which entails strict requirements regarding compliance, traceability and product communication. Managing expiry dates, batch numbers and regulatory documents was a critical challenge, exacerbated by Amazon’s limitations in managing stock rotation.

The brand also faced major issues on the platform: incorrect listings (including product listings combining multiple UPCs), the constant presence of unauthorized resellers, as well as compliance issues that led to false recalls.

The Objectives

Virox wanted to re-establish a compliant and stable presence on Amazon, while recovering lost sales and securing its distribution ecosystem.

The aim was also to regain control of product listings, eliminate the risks associated with non-compliance, and ensure rigorous management tailored to pharmaceutical and veterinary requirements.

The ProMerit Approach

ProMerit implemented an approach focused on compliance and control, drawing in particular on the Amazon SaaS Core certified program to ensure continuous monitoring of the Amazon ecosystem.

A structured action plan was developed and submitted to Amazon to address critical issues, including the management of listings, regulatory documents, and issues related to batches and expiry dates.

In parallel, extensive work was carried out on brand protection, including the proactive management of unauthorized resellers and the stabilization of prices and distribution.

Finally, the operational model was adapted to Virox’s unique constraints: ProMerit ensures truckload supply several times a year, with a six-month inventory planning cycle, to support the biannual shutdowns of highly regulated facilities. This structure ensures operational continuity and product availability on Amazon despite planned interruptions.

In total, eight critical compliance issues were resolved, enabling Virox to operate on Amazon with a level of control and security appropriate to the requirements of its industry.
